![]() Dear Mom and Dad,
I cannot thank you enough for sending me all the way out to New York to pursue my dreams. But, I want you to know that I miss home and I miss all the people that make me ‘me.’ I miss my friends and all of you guys and it is so hard packing up and leaving a place you grew so accustomed to for 18 years. I miss our family dinners and just laughing around the table about something stupid that happened today. I want you guys to know how grateful I am for the home you built for our entire family and although right now New York is my home, I know I can always come truly home to all your guys’ never-ending love and support. Love always, Molly Ever since Pi got on the boat, he immediately began reminiscing of home and his happy life there. It took him having to leave his home and try to feel comfortable in a new home where he truly began finding his true self. The past couple visits when I have gone to New York, I have gone by myself to go stay with my sister and going by myself allows me to get a sense of what trying to make New York my new home is going to be like. But, when it comes to moving to bigger and better things, my mom says to me all the time, "don't forget us" which always sticks with me because it tells me that wherever I am doing whatever I am doing, I can always remember my family and have the leisure to go home if I need to ever truly feel at home.
